I'm begging for help here, people. My Lakeland dentist sold his practice. The new dentist says I need a procedure that my old dentist swears is unnecessary. Now I don't know which one to believe. So I'm looking for a third dentist to hopefully give me an objective opinion. I'd like this dentist to specialize in general dentistry, and perhaps cosmetic dentistry.
Here's my criteria:
- He/she must be in Lakeland.
- He/she must have been in practice 10 or more years.
- He/she must be fluent in English. It doesn't have to be their first language, but I need to understand what the heck they're saying.
So please, PLEASE help me out. Post your suggestions in comments

Definitely call Dr. Craig Valentine! I have never been to a nicer, more professional, more painfree dentist. Sorry, I don't have his number handy, but you can look him up!
I can only tell you who NOT to go to. That being one that took over a practice on Hwy 98 north in the Gibsonia area. All I remember was the last name starting with Mogadashi or something like that. Put me in the hospital over a root canal, gave me the wrong medicine, and never admitted to any wrong doing. Try the Valentine guy. And suggest you don't go to the one now doing time in the pokey over taxes....

The nerve of some people. Imagine just selling his practice without consulting his patients first. I recommend Dr. John Paul, whose office is located off Edgewood Drive. I have gone to him for years. His number is 665-6201. Call me if you have any questions or need more information. Yeah, I would stay away from the one in the pokey over taxes too!
I use Brian Crosby an FSC graduate and very good dentist. I first started going to him because of an emergency and he was amazing. I switched from my dentist in AZ and have used him ever since. He is quite the perfectionist, which I like! Office is on the corner of Harden and Beacon. Phone: (863) 683-8127.
I like Dr. John B. Ellis. He's on S. Florida Ave, near Edgewood (by Checkers). He's been there forever and doesn't like to do unnesseccary procedures.
I recommend Dr. Charles Llano on West Highland Drive. He's not cheap, but does a lot of procedures most dentists would refer you to a specialist.
